Sari Paya
The best part of Shogran’s visit is an excursion to Sari and Paya. An eight kilometer jeepable road goes through the thick pine forest climbing an other 2300 feet to the top of the ridge of Paya which is a lush green meadow with spectacular view of Malika Parbat and other snow covered mountains. The views all around are picture-perfect. One can also see varieties of wild alpine flowers on the rolling grassy slopes of Paya. From here one can go to Climb Makra Mountain which is 12743 feet from see level. From Paya one has to climb around 2000 feet to reach the top of this mountain which forms the border between Kaghan Valley of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Neelum Valley of AJK. This mountain climb is only recommended for those you have previous experience of hiking and are familiar with the mountain wilderness safety rules and are properly equipped. Sari is a small lake on the way to Paya.
